GIS CLUB

OUR MISSION

The focus of the BMCC GIS Club is on the exciting field of geospatial data analysis, including GPS technologies, GIS applications, and remote sensing of all types. These technologies can be applied in any field as powerful analysis and development tools for any spatially and temporally sensitive data. The purpose of this club is to expand the knowledge concerning the theories, technology and responsible applications thereof. More importantly, we are committed to community service and public programs providing professional exposure and academic support.

UPDATE EVENTS

GIS Club Trip to Central Park

The GIS club went on a field trip to central park. This field trip was for collecting spatial data using a GPS Trimble Juno 3B at central park. Since GPS is sensitive to the high buildings in the city, we selected the open space at central park to practice the usage of the GPS. The data collected for certain objects will then be imported into either Google Map or ArcGIS.
